Michelle Johnston Psychology
Registered Psychologist and Director
Hi, I’m Michelle, a Registered Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor based in Brisbane. I offer both in-person sessions in Hamilton, Brisbane and Telehealth appointments across Australia.
I have experience supporting individuals across the lifespan in a range of mental health settings, including forensic services, community mental health and the criminal and youth justice systems. I have worked with both young people and adults navigating complex mental health challenges, trauma and disrupted attachment.
Over time, my work has evolved beyond a focus on symptom management toward supporting a deeper understanding of each person’s internal world and lived experience.
How I Work With You
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic, attachment theory and trauma-informed with a focus on understanding the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape your experience.
Therapy with me is a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening beneath the surface and begin to relate to yourself with more clarity, compassion and understanding.
“I offer a calm space to explore life’s challenges, deepen self-understanding and move forward with greater clarity.”
